Did you see the speech Joel Burns made at a Fort Worth city council meeting recently? It was an impassioned, candid, and very personal speech about being gay, being bullied, feeling like you're different, and the recent rash of suicides among gay youths. Burns is a city councilman and, as far as I know, is not running or planning to run for governor of Texas. But why not show your support for Burns, an openly gay man--and believe me, Texas is NOT a place for politicians (or anyone else) to be openly gay--by making this statement:
Joel Burns for Governor. This rainbow colored design is available on t-shirts, bumper stickers and a lot of other
merchandise.
If you haven't seen the speech referred to above, you can
view it here. It's definitely worth a few minutes of your time--and if you know anyone who is anti-gay, homophobic, etc., pass the link along to them. It should be required viewing for those who wish homosexuals would just go away.
